moments in August
I was scrolling back through photos today, thinking about blog posts, and it struck me how many walks have two or three photos, either because I’ve been focusing on taking videos or because we’ve been walking later in the day and I simply ran out the light.
So I thought I’d group some of these together, starting with this set from August. I have a few favourite photos in this mix, including the one above, and if you scroll down to Oak sitting on the stone bench, these are some of my all-time favourite images of Oakley. It was August 10th, Oak’s homecoming anniversary, and we’d headed for a favourite walk – through Links Wood near Tyninghame to the marshland, looking across the Tyne towards Belhaven and John Muir Country Park. The light was gorgeous ( I like how her warm golden and tan fur tones are picked up in the stone), and I think you can see Oak’s ease in these photos. She was fully engaged with this adventure.
The photo below is also a favourite from this month, even though it’s a simple one. Walking across the salt marsh at Belhaven over these summer months, I’ve always been struck by the light on the grasses, and by the setting sun glowing across the clouds, as it is here. Simple, but sometimes those are the moments that stick with you, right?
